Manufacturing Exempt/Manufacturing Non-Exempt


Produces components by assembling parts and subassemblies.


  • Prepares work to be accomplished by studying assembly work instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials. Must access the Digital Manufacturing Order (DMO) for specific work instructions.
  • Wears the proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required for the task of assembly at the Panel Cell. This includes gloves, safety glasses and Steel-Toed shoes.
  • Positions posts and beams and subassemblies onto the proper assembly work surface.
  • Assembles components such as brackets and connecting plates onto the posts by installing them using the appropriate bolts using standard tools or electric impact wrenches.
  • Keeps equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements as defined by supervision or the area lead man.
  • Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Documents actions by completing production and quality forms as required.
  • Once assembly of a post or beam is completed, move the assembly to the next station.


  • Ability to read and understand paperwork pertaining to material and parts throughout the production process is preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand instructions from a computer.
  • Ability to follow procedures and record proper information on manufacturing orders used for production.



  • Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required.
  • Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers.


Preferred Education and Experience: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Physical Demands:


The employee is frequently required to use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls and to climb or balance. The employee is required to walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, and talk and hear.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Other requirements include:

  • Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to push and pull a maximum force of 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to work proficiently with hands and wrists and be able to grasp objects
  • Must be able to stand and walk for up to 12 hours
  • Must be able to recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools
