Overview

The Contracts Specialist is responsible for coordinating all contract management during the Proposal, Design & Engineering, and Execution phases of the Prescient projects lifecycle.

 

This individual will be responsible for fostering contracts through the review and approval process including legal reviews with our attorney when applicable.  The Contracts Specialist will support our Pre-Construction project managers to place our standard Engineering Services, BIM Services and Model Use Agreements with our clients and coordinate the review, revision and execution of our Prime Subcontracts with our clients.  The Contracts Specialist will support Project Managers to place and manage Certified Installer contracts.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Prescient’s standard contracts.  Analyze and draft contract language.  Revise contracts based on lessons learned.  Keeper of standard contracts.
  • Coordinate with project managers the technical review and analysis, legal review and revisions of Prescient’s standard contracts for Engineering Services, BIM Services and Model Use Agreements through to execution.
  • Provide analysis, coordinate legal review, provide risk summaries for Prescient’s prime subcontract with clients, and for the client’s prime contract with the project developer/owner.  Foster the prime subcontract through the approval process.
  • Understand and manage the schedule/planning for contracts to meet required dates for execution to support engineering, manufacturing and construction deadlines.
  • Organize support structure and develop standard procedures and practices for contract lifecycle management
  • Develop the contract management framework for Prescient to improve contract management from beginning to end, and maintain the standard contracts incorporating lessons learned from each project.

Qualifications

A strong background in contracts management with knowledge and experience in the commercial building industry.

Required Education and Experience:

 

  1. Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration or related field.
  2. At least six years of experience in professional contracting, which includes the drafting of complex contracts, including provisions, and solicitation documents.  Possession of a directly related post-graduate degree may be substituted for two years of required experience.

Preferred Education and Experience:

 

MBA with at least three years of professional contracting experience.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

 

This position may oversee contract assistants in the future organization.

Travel:

Travel is primarily local, although some out–of-area and overnight travel may be expected.
