Overview

The Assistant Project Manager will assist in working with our clients (general contractors, architects, engineers and developers) as a multi-unit/multifamily Construction Manager.

 

This individual will be providing technical direction and support to ensure compliance as it relates to the scope of our system’s design, coordination and installation. You will be supported by our in-house team of architects and engineers and our logistics and site installation teams with Project Design, Project Planning, Cost Management, Time Management, Quality Management, and Contract Administration.

 

Position Purpose: The Assistant Project Manager (APM) is a full time, exempt position, responsible for assisting the Project Manager with managing the construction process on multiple projects simultaneously. The APM will assist in contract negotiation, working with designers, managing schedules, budgets and managing home sales. This position is highly visible in the organization and externally. The APM reports to the Project Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Support the project manager in successful project delivery
  • Develop skills and knowledge to progress towards Project Manager
  • Assist in negotiating contract agreements
  • Assist in developing and maintaining good working relationship with architects, contractors and developers
  • Documentation and preparation of meeting minutes
  • Collaboration with the pre-construction group and development of project plans, schedules and budgets
  • Assist the project manager with Field personnel and subcontractor management

Qualifications

A strong background in engineering, architecture and knowledge of the international building code.  Experience with metal stud framing and panelized framing systems preferred. Experience in project management of multi-unit/multifamily apartments, hotels and hospitality, and senior and institutional housing (dormitories).  Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or BS in Engineering, applied science or engineering field. Experience with field management software platforms and project scheduling and accounting software is a plus.
